ABORIGINAL MARINE RANGER TRAINING PROGRAM

First started in 1995 this innovative program was supported by LIPS, QPWS, Bamaga Bubu Ngadimunku Corporation and KMKM Aboriginal Corporation. The program was designed to train Aboriginal people to work as Marine Park Ranger in their traditional sea country. The program ended in 1999.

The Low Isles Preservation Society (LIPS) is a conservation group dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Low Isles, and the marine, coastal and rainforest environments of far north Queensland.
